“I painted and played till 14
Life was gold, green, and glorious
That was home
Picking up brushes 1994
Home again”
As in the statement from my 2006 Home Series exhibit, I am happiest and most at home when I paint. I paint in oil, for I love the physical sensation of applying oil paints.
Though I am mainly an abstract painter, I sometime mix figures in my work. I paint to capture an emotion, a feeling, a mood, a person, or a moment. But mostly, I follow the paint and see where it takes me.
Picasso said, “If you know exactly what you are going to do, what’s the good of doing it. “ Every painting is a new adventure.
